Artichoke Basille
The Artichoke Slice That Changed NYC Pizza

Founded by fourth-generation pizzaiolos, Artichoke Basille’s Pizza established their first location in New York City’s East Village in 2008, and the city’s late-night dining scene (and pizza scene in general) hasn’t been the same since. Revelers and pizza lovers lined up at all hours for a taste of their now-legendary Artichoke Pizza, and since then, more than a dozen additional locations have opened across the country.
This East Village pizza joint literally created a new category of late-night NYC dining when they opened in 2008 with their now-legendary artichoke slice. Fourth-generation pizzaiolos brought their family recipe to 14th Street, and suddenly everyone from club kids to college students was lining up at 3am for these thick, creamy, spinach-and-artichoke topped squares that barely resemble traditional pizza. Now they've got locations all over the country, but this original spot still draws the crowds who made artichoke pizza a thing.
Tip
The raw notes suggest hitting the Chelsea location after walking the High Line for the perfect food-and-sightseeing combo.
