I had to do a double-take when I first saw the Veluwemeer Aqueduct - boats literally sailing OVER cars on the highway below! This incredible piece of Dutch engineering lets water traffic cross above the A28 motorway, creating one of the most surreal sights you'll ever see. It's like someone flipped the script on how bridges are supposed to work, and honestly, it perfectly sums up why I love the Netherlands.
Tip
Pull over at the viewing area on the north side for the best photo angle - you can capture both the boats above and cars below in one shot.
